Book a restaurant table with Alexa+

A reviewer asked Alexa+ to book a sushi restaurant, but it couldn't because the restaurant isn't on OpenTable; he also tried booking an Uber.

Done with Alexa+

What they did

Jason Del Rey, in early access to the Alexa+ beta on an Echo Show, asked it by voice to book a table for him and his wife at a new local sushi restaurant. He also asked it to order an Uber, which required him to grant access to his Uber account.

How it went

The booking failed. The restaurant uses Resy rather than OpenTable, which is Alexa+'s only reservation partner, so Alexa+ just gave him the phone number. The Uber order worked seamlessly.

Worth knowing

Reservations only work at OpenTable restaurants. Uber needs you to link your account first.

Book a table for [number] people at [restaurant name] on [date] at [time]. If it isn't available through OpenTable, tell me and suggest [cuisine] restaurants nearby that are. Before you confirm any reservation, read the details back to me and wait for my yes.
